SIMON ROBERTS

After many years working as a commercial artist, in the UK, Munich and Vienna, Simon Roberts now lives in the south of France with his wife Monica and their Springer Spaniel, Millie.

He’s still busy as a concept and storyboard artist for Advertising Agencies, TV and Film companies but is also busy running Painting Workshops and classes, in both studio settings as well as ‘en plein air’. Simon’s a keen watercolour artist and has a loose style which he developed during his many travels through Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa.

It was while on a 7-month solo motorcycle trip overland to Kathmandu, Nepal, Simon began adding illustrations to his Travel Journals. “I would often see sights on the road during the day which I then sketched into my journal from memory during the evening..”

Having studied Technical Graphics, Simon has a comprehensive knowledge of perspective techniques which he will unravel for you. “It’s a vital part of sketching on the road – whether your painting landscapes or village scenes”.
